Diablo 4 Season 12 is introducing Wyrdskin, a new pair of unique gloves that can be used by Sorcerer, Druid, Rogue, and Necromancer, and they're already getting a lot of attention on the 2.6 PTR. Stat-wise, they're solid even before you look at the unique effect. You get a chunk of bonus life for survivability, +1–2 ranks to Core Skills to boost your main damage abilities, extra crit chance, and attack speed to smooth out rotations. On their own, those affixes already make them competitive with strong legendary gloves Diablo 4 Items.
What really makes Wyrdskin stand out is the unique power. Your attacks apply Vulnerable to distant enemies and Weakened to close enemies. If a target is affected by both at the same time, you deal an additional 10–30% increased damage to them. It's a simple idea, but it adds a positional layer to combat that fits well with Season 12's kill streak focus. You're rewarded for moving between range and melee instead of standing still and spamming one ability.
In practice, it feels very fluid. You might tag a pack from distance to apply Vulnerable, then dive in to finish them while applying Weakened. Vulnerable boosts the damage they take, while Weakened cuts the damage they deal, so you get both offense and defense at once. When both debuffs overlap, the extra damage multiplier kicks in, which helps burn elites and bosses faster during long streak chains.
Sorcerers get good value out of the gloves in Elemental setups. Ranged skills like Ice Shards, Frozen Orb, or Chain Lightning apply Vulnerable from a safe distance, then mobility tools like Teleport or Flame Shield let you close the gap briefly to trigger Weakened. The Core Skill ranks help with mana efficiency and scaling, while the attack speed and crit chance keep spell rotations fast. PTR testing shows them performing especially well in group farming since you're constantly feeding Vulnerable uptime to teammates.
Druids can use Wyrdskin effectively in Pulverize or Tornado builds. Storm skills soften enemies at range, then Pulverize or other close hits apply Weakened once you're in the pack. The added life and attack speed help smooth out survivability and spirit generation, and overlapping both debuffs on bosses can noticeably speed up kills. It's also flexible enough to work in companion or hybrid setups, which makes it appealing beyond just one meta build.
Rogues arguably use the gloves the most naturally because of their mobility. You can apply Vulnerable with Barrage or Penetrating Shot, then dash in with Shadow Step or other melee tools to apply Weakened almost instantly. High crit scaling and fast attack speed fit Rogue perfectly, and it's easy to maintain both debuffs while speed-farming dungeons or seasonal activities.
Necromancers benefit through a mix of ranged casts and close-range minion or corpse interactions. Skills like Bone Spear or Sever apply Vulnerable from afar, while Corpse Tendrils, Blight zones, or melee minions help trigger Weakened once enemies collapse inward. The extra Core ranks and survivability stats are valuable in longer boss fights, and testers note the defensive side of Weakened helps keep minions alive during heavy damage phases.
As for farming Wyrdskin, it drops through the usual unique item sources. Helltide chests — especially glove-specific Tortured Gifts — are one of the more targeted options. Tree of Whispers caches, Obol gambling at the Purveyor of Curiosity, Tormented bosses, and Infernal Hordes can all drop it as well cheap diablo 4 gear. Like most uniques, higher World Tiers improve your odds, so endgame farming routes are the most efficient way to hunt for a good roll.
Wyrdskin feels like one of the more creative Season 12 uniques so far. It doesn't just add raw damage — it encourages movement, positioning, and hybrid play. That makes it appealing across multiple classes rather than being locked into one build. If it goes live close to its current PTR state, it has a good chance of becoming a staple pickup for several endgame setups.
